Sadguru Rajendra Swamigal, a revered spiritual teacher from a distinguished lineage, experienced the awakening of his inner light at Thiruvannamalai temple—an epicenter for seekers on the Shiva path. Later, he felt the same transformative energy at Siddharpuram in Karaimedu, Tamil Nadu, where the great Pambatti Siddhar had once rested hundreds of years ago.

Recognizing the site’s spiritual potency for awakening and healing, Sadguru Rajendra Swamigal decided that this land could serve as a beacon for other spiritual aspirants. He built a temple at Karaimedu dedicated to the 18 Siddhas and the sage Kaushika, creating a sacred space for those following the Siddha tradition to seek enlightenment, healing, and the inner light. The temple serves as a testament to the enduring lineage of spiritual masters who have influenced the Siddha path, and continues to inspire seekers to pursue self-realization and renewal in this blessed locale.
